Wing Chun Kuen Training Centre recently marked its 25th anniversary with a grand celebration on December 1st, 2024. The event, held at the Kwoon at Midview City, was a testament to the institution's enduring legacy and its continued commitment to promoting Wing Chun Kuen.
The day began with a morning ceremony, a solemn and meaningful tribute to the rich history of Wing Chun Kuen, where our Sigung Joseph Cheng had graciously come from afar in China to officiate. Together with Sigung, our Sifu Chua inaugurate the ceremony as a poignant reminder of the art's origins and the generations of masters who have dedicated their lives to its preservation and development. The vibe of the ceremony was heightened when our Sigung Joseph Cheng addressed the audience, while demonstrating the importance of the core principles of Wing Chun Kuen with some signature Wing Chun Kuen moves. Both Shishu Guoyi from Fujian Traditional Wing Chun Kuen, Changle, and Shishugung Austin Goh, who practiced side by side with Sigung Joseph Cheng under the tutelage of Grandmaster Lee Shing, welcomed all attendees of the ceremony. There were demonstrations from our WCKTC's senior students together with a special Chi Sao challenge to commemorate this significant milestone.
The day culminated with a celebratory dinner, a joyous occasion for all WCKTC students, instructors, and guests to come together and share in the spirit of camaraderie and appreciation. During the dinner, Sifu Chua and his WCKTC committee took the opportunity to show appreciation to all the special guests of the event with Mementos, besides sharing stories, and forging connections.
The 25th Anniversary celebration was a resounding success, a testament to WCKTC's dedication to preserving and promoting Wing Chun Kuen. As WCKTC embarks on its next chapter, it looks forward to continuing its legacy of excellence and inspiring future generations to embrace the transformative power of Wing Chun Kuen.
