When we were first contacted by the agency to participate in Temasek Polytechnic Chinese Cultural Virtual Event on November 10, 2021, we were both delighted and stressed. We have to share the culture and skills of Wing Chun Kuen Martial Art online. We had never done this before.
We were in charged of the one segment featuring how Chinese culture and traditions transcend through martial arts. The whole cultural event is a full-day webinar for their over 800 students, and our segment was scheduled from 11.15am to 12.15pm. In this 1-hour webinar segment, WCKTC shared the origin, culture and the traditions of Wing Chun Kuen Martial Art for the first part. In the second part, Sifu Chua taught some basic moves and demonstrated how the moves can be used in a fight and self defence to the Temasek Polytechnic students who attended the webinar.
The success of conducting the virtual event was the concerted effort of all WCKTC committee members. The various expertise of our committee members proved to be the hidden treasure that had provided the strong platform in guiding WCKTC students and promoting the Art under the strong leadership of Sifu Chua. The clip below provides a better glimpse of what actually happened on that day!
